Automobile gear oil is a kind of lubricant with high viscosity. It is a kind of important lubricant which is mainly based on oil lubricating oil base oil or synthetic lubricating oil. Used for various gear transmission devices to prevent tooth surface wear, abrasions, sintering, etc., to extend its service life and improve transmission power efficiency. Vehicle gear oil adopts two methods: performance classification and viscosity classification.
Classification of Gear Oil The old classification of gear oil in our country was classified according to the original Soviet standard. Ordinary gear oil is divided into 3 brands: 20, 26, and 30 according to 100 degrees motor viscosity. The hyperbolic gear oil is divided into four grades: No. 18, No. 22, No. 26, and No. 28 according to 100 degrees motion viscosity. Now China is divided into three categories according to quality: ordinary vehicle gear oil(CLC), medium load vehicle gear oil(CLD), and heavy load vehicle gear oil(CLE).
The classification of gear oil can be divided into GL-1, gl-2, gl-3, gl-4, gl-5, gl-6 and other quality levels according to the standards of the American Petroleum society(API). There are corresponding quality grade marks on the outer packing of wheel oil.
Gear oil is divided into 75W, 75w/90, 80w/90, 85w/90, 90, 85w/140 and 140 viscosity grades(brands) at 100 °C and the maximum operating temperature when the apparent viscosity is 15000mpa.s. |
